This is a difficult question because it doesn’t have an easy answer. AHCH does NOT have control over who is assigned vouchers and when. We can only do housing assessments and then are contracted to provide support to people already assigned a housing voucher. The VI-SPDAT is the housing assessment used by the New Mexico Coordinated Entry system. It assesses vulnerability for people experiencing homelessness. The more vulnerable, the higher priority they are for housing support. For example, a healthy, young individual might score lower on the assessment and would be lower priority, while an elderly individual with chronic illnesses may be given higher priority and might be assigned a voucher quicker. However, if your circumstances change, please re-take the VI-SPDAT and see if your assigned priority changes.
