Guided by the Voices of the People We Serve
At Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, we believe the people most affected by homelessness should help shape the solutions. That’s why we intentionally weave client experience into every aspect of our work—from program design and evaluation to advocacy and organizational strategy.
Throughout the year, we gather feedback through client surveys, program evaluations, community needs assessments, and our Client Experience Compendium, which brings together stories, insights, and recommendations from people who receive services at AHCH. These experiences help us better understand emerging needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure our services remain responsive and person-centered.
One of the most important ways we elevate client voices is through our Client Leadership Committee, a monthly committee that serves as a subcommittee of our Board of Directors. The committee brings together clients, staff, and organizational leadership to discuss issues affecting our community, review AHCH initiatives and priorities, and provide meaningful input on programs, services, and advocacy efforts. Their perspectives help guide organizational decisions and ensure that the people closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions.
By listening, learning, and acting on what we hear, we strengthen our ability to provide care that is effective, equitable, and grounded in the lived experiences of our community.
