Homelessness has more than doubled in Albuquerque in the last 2 years.
The New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness just published the Albuquerque and Balance of the State Report based on the 2024 Point in Time Count.
The Point in Time Count is a national survey is a snapshot of how many people are experiencing homelessness on a single night, in addition to collecting some voluntary demographic data. Furthermore, this survey only captures the “visible” or unsheltered homeless population and not necessarily all the people who are living in their cars, couch surfing, or in temporary shelters.
These numbers are shocking.
