Join the Fight to End Homelessness
AHCH is Currently Recruiting a VISTA Volunteer:
You can earn money for education while making a difference in your community! AHCH is currently recruiting a VISTA member to join the statewide New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness VISTA Team that works together to end homelessness in New Mexico. NMCEH VISTA members work behind the scenes to assist in strengthening programs through fundraising, volunteer recruitment, event planning, and educational programming.
Founded in 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH)’s mission is to provide caring and comprehensive health and integrated supportive services, to link people experiencing homelessness to individual and collective solutions, to be a leader in implementing innovative service models, to be a catalyst for solutions to homelessness, and to uphold a commitment to diversity and equity. AHCH provides comprehensive, transdisciplinary services that address the health related causes and consequences of homelessness. This integrated services model is designed to respond to the complex needs of people experiencing homelessness through outreach, low demand settings, and site-based services to create multiple entryways to care.
AHCH is inspired to engage a VISTA Volunteer who is passionate about social justice. The VISTA Volunteer will support the mission and vision of AHCH by increasing AHCH’s capacity through fund development, external relations, and volunteer engagement. The VISTA Volunteer should be sensitive to the needs of homeless persons and be passionate about poverty and social justice issues as they will be interacting with people experiencing homelessness. The VISTA Volunteer should also be philosophically and professionally able to develop resources that align with the vision and mission of AHCH. The volunteer will be a part of AHCH’s high-volume and fast-paced Fund Development Team, which believes that fundraising and resource mobilization is about reclaiming the collective power necessary to sustain the work needed to end homelessness. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds and bilingual English/Spanish preferred. This is a volunteer position with a monthly living stipend of $973 per month.
